The Youth Coalition of Oxnard
The Youth Coalition of Oxnard is a BRITE Leadership Program funded through All Children Thrive. The program is offered to students in the Oxnard Union High School District who conduct research projects through the academic school year. The YCO focuses on civic engagement activities and public service. Participating youth learn to create policy recommendations to be presented at City Council in order to improve the city of Oxnard.
The All Children Thrive initiative is funded through the California Department of Public Health. Those resources are utilized by the YCO to create a youth led movement in order to promote advocacy, equity, and social justice. Additional sponsorship provided by the Port of Hueneme is utilized for nutritional support of the Youth Coalition members. For more information on how to become a member of the YCO, click here.
