There is no charge for our workshops and presentations to Ventura County schools and community organizations. Funding is provided through Ventura County Behavioral Health Department, Substance Use Services, Ventura County Office of Education and School Districts.

In this fun interactive workshop participants play in teams, and compete for points. Topics include vaping, nicotine, marijuana, and youth brain development. Adaptable for middle or high school students and between 25 - 50 minutes.
ALCOHOL & DRUG PREVENTION GAME
Like the above with different topics
Another favorite workshop with a game played in teams, making it a fun session filled with important information about alcohol and other drugs, including prescription medications and opioids. Middle or high school versions adaptable between 30 - 60 minutes.

Our most popular high school workshop combines the above topics in one session. Our growing question library also allows us to create new games and customize them by adding new topics. In addition to our jeopardy type game board we have a Spin-the-Wheel game, Moonshot - a race to the moon, and other formats to change things up. Sessions between 45 - 90 minutes.
BRITE WORLD 3-D A student favorite!
Through special funding for innovative use of technology for prevention
We bring in 40 iPads and participants use them to interact with educational prevention quizzes, puzzles and challenges via avatars. In teams and/or as individuals they play on the beach of Activity ISLAND, search for treasure chests on the PIRATE SHIP, dance at the SCI-FI Festival, conduct research in the LABORATORY, and more! 30-90 minutes. Making Smart Choices about Substance Use
Our newest workshop educates middle school students on the dangers of vaping, drugs & alcohol, while also promoting healthy coping skills and alternatives. Students engage in pairs promoting discussion that includes information about the developing brain and addiction.
HEALTHY COPING SKILLS / STRESS MANAGEMENT
Created at the request of many youth & young adults
We added this workshop to our list at the request of many students seeking support in managing their stress and anxiety without drugs or alcohol. The presentation includes educational information, conversation, exercises and awareness of resources available to them. When time allows they can make a touchstone or other special item to remind and encourage them on their journey.
MEDIA, MARKETING & YOUR MIND
Prevention & Modern Media Literacy
With the constant stream of messaging in our lives today, it is more important than ever for young people learn to think critically about the information they are receiving and how they are being influenced. In this interactive session we facilitate a discussion that includes education about vaping, marijuana, the tobacco industry and social media.
YOUTH ADVOCACY
A stand alone workshop or an advocacy project springboard
In this workshop we discuss what advocacy is and explore a variety of opportunities and tools available to youth. Participants explore their own interests in topics and mediums and see examples of projects by other young people. If they will be doing projects, we can help with developing their plan and getting a good start.
